Hello! My name is Rachel Funel, and I have been part of the New Orleans wedding community for
over 8 years, and I am here to assist with planning your dream wedding in New Orleans.
Born, raised in New Orleans, I am deeply-rooted in Louisiana culture; I focus on destination weddings in New Orleans, including pre- and post-wedding activities. I am honored to assist couples with such a memorable life event, and I truly feel New Orleans is the perfect location for a wedding as unique as the city itself. In the Crescent City, a wedding is more than just a one-day event – it’s a weekend celebration. An incomparable blend of Southern hospitality, world-famous cuisine, and vibrant culture I can help make your special day in New Orleans one you and your guests will never forget.
Through the New Orleans Convention & Visitors Bureau (CVB), I provide complimentary services to those interested in planning a wedding in New Orleans. Not only do I know vendors personally, but I also have access to private New Orleans convention calendars, which prove useful when selecting your wedding date, helping you avoid lack of hotel availability. I have the ability to send out requests to multiple venues and vendors with your wedding information. This process provides you with direct answers from local companies and prevents futile efforts. Also, since the member organizations know they are competing for your business, they often present you with their best prices.
Not only does the New Orleans CVB provide complimentary services, but we also offer New Orleans themed plastic welcome bags, visitor guides, walking maps and self-guided brochures in six different languages. If the engaged couple wishes to circulate a request for 10 or more hotel rooms, we also send them special wedding beads to keep as memorabilia.
A wedding in New Orleans is guaranteed to be an unforgettable, unique experience! The culture, cuisine, music and history set it apart from any other city. New Orleans offers a thriving restaurant scene presenting legendary dishes such as gumbo and jambalaya, a buzzing music scene playing jazz and zydeco and numerous traditions. You can celebrate in the streets with a second line parade, chant with the Mardi Gras Indians or charter a streetcar. With the seamless blend of atmosphere, ambiance and architecture of New Orleans, it is difficult not to get swept up in the romance. In a city known for its celebrations, your wedding is sure to be one fantastic party. Plan your wedding in New Orleans – where the good times always roll.
