Joel Catering & Special Events found such a setting in il Mercato, an historic building located in New Orleans captivating Lower Garden District. It can comfortably serve 100 to 450 guests providing them an eye to the past while enjoying extraordinary cuisine and superlative service. Perfect for weddings, corporate events and fundraisers.
The renovation took almost two years. Besides lovingly restoring the walls, tiles and doors, the property was enhanced with the inclusion of a courtyard complete with 100-year old reclaimed bricks, a fireplace, and surrounding wrought-iron fencing. Many evenings begin in the courtyard for cocktails and hors d’oeuvres then naturally flow inside to the large open floor area.

Built in 1799 on historic Bayou St. John, the Pitot House is a witness to centuries of New Orleans history.
